A little about who I am -

I mostly work as a gardener and absolutely love it, getting to work outdoors year round and see the seasons change. Along side this I work as a photographer, which I also love! I have always been a bit of a dreamer and a wanderer. I spent my childhood days immersed in studying plants and insects for hours on end. Even when I was a baby, I was happiest when my mum would lay me down on a mossy woodland floor to watch the tree canopy sway in the wind.

I grew up in Wales and was home educated, which was a wonderful childhood. My sister and I spent most of our days outdoors, she was the active one and I was the one to sit quietly amongst the plants. I actually hated outdoor activities when I was young and would refuse to go on walks! But one day, when I was a teenager, my parents persuaded my to go on a 15 mile walk in mid Wales and that was the turning point for me, I walked the whole thing barefoot and since then I’ve been drawn to moors and mountains and long hikes.

I still live in Wales, now with my partner Brochan and our dog Floss. We try to travel a much as we can, in our self converted camper van, through the UK and abroad when we have the time. I am a very early bird and love the spring and early summer, waking up for sunrise walks and swims in the sea. When we’re not working we hike and camp both locally and further afield as much a possible!

I am very passionate about protecting nature, the environment and wild spaces. And would like to use my photography to help wildlife somehow, but I haven’t worked out in what way yet!

Alongside sharing my photography here, I’d also like to share my findings on how to be more sustainable outdoors. I’d love to inspire everyone to get outside in a more quiet and mindful way, absorbing and being part of nature’s systems and lives rather than just visiting them. Apparently studies show that the more exposure people have to the wild the more desire they have to protect it, so if I can encourage everyone to be more in tune with the wild and therefore want to be part of protecting it, I’d be happy!

My goal isn’t to be a travel guide or to share locations and walking spots. There are many other people doing that very well! My goal is to encourage you to find your own path and to notice that there is wonder and beauty everywhere you look. You don’t need to go to national parks or abroad to see amazing things, just take some time to look for it amongst the hedgerows or in your local park, you will find it :)
